Lauren Midwinter

London-based director Lauren Midwinter has a nose for a compelling narrative and a skill for building character. She likes finding the unusual in the ordinary and works in commercials, documentary and film.

Whether it's crafting a character with actors or helping people tell their own stories in documentaries, Lauren is highly experienced at working with talent. This is thanks to her immersive director training at Drama Centre London (Central St. Martins) where she spent every day for three years directing talent. It was a unique experience which equipped her with a sensitive, accomplished approach to working with talent, encouraging honest, open performances.

With an eye for engaging visuals, her work has a detailed, stylistic visual tone; it can sometimes be an overt look, like for a high-concept commercial, or a subtle heightened moment in a documentary. Her work connects with audiences, and she consistently creates campaigns for major brands that exceed their highest levels of engagement.

Lauren has directed work for household names and luxury brands such as Swarovski, Samsung and the International Olympic Committee. Her films have been screened at worldwide festivals, shown in art galleries, within international flagship stores and with major media publications.
