Ruth Sewell is an award winning multi-skilled director and writer born and raised in London. She started her career in script development at Big Talk Productions, working on The Sightseers, Paul and Attack the Block, and reading thousands of scripts.
Since moving into directing, Ruth found a niche making films for charities, including the NSPCC, Build Africa and Coppafeel. Most recently she directed a talk show for Facebook and a TV commercial for Nicorette.
Ruth co-established Dauntless Pictures where she is developing a slate of TV series and features. Her documentary for the Guardian, 'From The Bronx To Yale: The Power of High School Speech' was awarded a Staff Pick on Vimeo and premiered at Sheffield DocFest and her comedy short 'Countryphile' won Best Writing at NBFF and a WFTV Award.
