Vital-Durand

Raphael and David Vital-Durand.
Film Directors.

Originally from Lyon in France, David and Raphael steeped in a strong artistic environment since their parents, both architects, had a wide circle of friends that included many artists, visual artists, directors, and musicians.

Raphael made an art school and became art director in several advertising agencies (Havas, Young and Rubicam,…). David studied broadcasting and after that he collected experience in filming as well as in photography, sculpting and travelling.

The two brothers started to co-direct short programmes before 2000. Afterwards, they worked for music videos (Sinead O'Connor, Elton John, Suede, Ryiuchi Sakamoto, Lloyd Coole...), commercials all other the world (Gold Lion in 2000 for Bic, Lee Cooper, Vinci…) and shorts, among others a 17 minutes film named “Angels”, which won a CNC Quality Award (National Centre of Cinematography) and was selected for numerous festivals in France and abroad.

They also directed a documentary about sexuality in 2010.

The brothers just issued their first feature film: “Et Mon Coeur Transparent”.
The film was out in spring 2018 and had a very good success from press and audience. A strange and mysterious thriller shoot in Corsica with the actors Julien Boisselier, Sara Giraudeau and Caterina Murino (James Bond Casino Royale).

At the moment they are working on two feature film projects: a wild nature road-movie and as well an adventure comedy.

David has a real passion for photography for twenty years now (current exhibition at different galleries in Paris). Raphael is also a painter with several exhibitions.

When it comes to films or pictures, their work includes a strong inclination for surrealistic subjects inhabited by human fragility and emotion.
